Internet Y2K Campaign

The supporters of the Internet Y2K Campaign:

  • Recognize the significant risk of the Year 2000 date conversion problem to the Internet community;
  • Encourage each member of the Internet community to conduct an assessment of their systems or networks and prepare for Y2K;
  • Encourage the Internet community to share information; and
  • Support the creation of an Internet Y2K Campaign website to act as a clearinghouse of information.
Supporters of the Internet Y2K Campaign are asked to do the following:
  • Grant permission to place their organizational name on the Internet Y2K Campaign website;
  • Encourage their members to become Y2K ready;
  • Encourage their members to share Y2K information;
  • Hold Y2K informational events where possible; and
  • Link to the Internet Y2K Campaign website.

The Internet Y2K Campaign has an announce only e-mail list.  This list will be used to disseminate Campaign information including press releases, event notices, information on important Y2K developments, and general discussion pieces.  This list is being hosted by the Next Generation Internet and moderated by the Virginia ISP Alliance.  To join, send an e-mail to list@nety2k.org with the command "join admin" (no quotation marks).  To unsubscribe, send an e-mail to list@nety2k.org with the command "unsubscribe admin."
