Roll out is for networks who are large enough to have repeated architecture. Networks with several Points of Presence that are similar in design may consider utilizing Roll Out. In these cases, networks may decide to do a pilot assessment first. One part of the network is isolated, inventoried, assessed, remediated, and tested. The lessons that are learned from this are then used to revise the assessment plan. This new plan, which takes into account all those unexpected events you encountered, is now rolled out to the entire network. The advantage of Roll Out is the ability to test and revise your plan. The disadvantage of Roll Out is that you do not have much time.
